TODD GLORIA MAKES HISTORY AS SAN DIEGO'S FIRST LGBTQ+ MAYOR

"Democrat Todd Gloria-- 'the son of a hotel maid and a gardener' -- made history Thursday as he was sworn in as the 37th mayor of the City of San Diego.

Promptly at 10 a.m. -- via a very pandemic-style, virtual inauguration ceremony before the San Diego City Council -- Gloria became the first-ever person of color and member of the LGBTQ community to hold the city's highest leadership position."

KELLI MARUCCIA

Owner/ CEO

Kelli formed KM Strategies in 2004. Kelli was born and raised in San Diego and lives in Point Loma with her husband Matt and 2 girls Emma and Elysa, and their dog Luca. Kelli initially began her fundraising career as an intern for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee while completing her degree from UCLA. From there she was recruited by Senator Tim Johnson’s re-election campaign to work in his Washington, DC fundraising office. After a successful campaign for Senator Johnson, Kelli moved back to San Diego and worked for Drew Consulting, a local fundraising firm. There, she managed fundraising for multiple campaigns, candidates, and initiatives. After leaving Drew Consulting, Kelli opened KM Strategies to handle multiple candidate campaigns and initiatives at the local, state, and federal levels. Kelli and KM Strategies have raised more than 30 million dollars and counting!

ACACIA CLARKE

Finance Director

Acacia started with KM in August of 2021 and has already proven a vital asset to the KM team. She interned for Measure G - the SDSU West Initiative – while obtaining her bachelor’s degree in political science and marketing from University of Miami. After graduating, Acacia moved to San Diego and worked for a nationally recognized political consulting firm. She used her extensive marketing background to help lead many successful city council, ballot measure and other candidate campaigns. She's currently working towards a Masters of Business Administration from San Diego State University.

RACHELA FEY

Finance Assistant

Rachela is a San Diego native and San Diego State University alumni. She received her degree in International Business with an emphasis in Italian, and minor in Islamic and Arabic studies. Prior to graduating, she interned for the San Diego Chamber of Commerce focusing on policies within the San Diego-Baja California region. She has been working as a campaign fundraiser in San Diego since 2021.
